Do any of you experience a significant loss of concentration and focus while on an SSRI type drug? Right now I'm on 20 mg of Lexapro and I feel like I can't think as clearly, my memory isn't as good and I feel like I'm walking through a haze or a fog of some sort. People always mentions the obvious sexual side effects but no-one talks about the thinking side effects. So please, if any of you are experiencing mental side effects could you please answer me?

You're not alone. I've experienced the same thing on Lex and I've become a tad forgetful but from what I've read on this board, it's a common side effect and the good far outweigh the bad.

I've actually experienced the opposite. Because of the reduced stress I've been able to recall more and be more productive.

celexa just makes me feel apathy and sleepiness............. or maybe my brain is just worn out from parnate?

i had the same experience on lexapro--ultimately, i quit taking it because i felt so out of my orient all the time--it's just like you mentioned "hazey" and i hated it. i didn't stick the medication out long enough to see if it went away or not.

>... sorry, but i can't really answer your question
... lex is the only med i've taken
... but from reading the posts on the lex thread, there's a lot of evidence that celexa effects people very differently than lexapro ... even though celexa is the parent of lexapro, the posts suggest that there are more interactions between the other isomer of lexapro than the clinical trials have revealed ...... i have read almost no reports of lex affecting someone the same way as celexa, among folks who have taken both ... and many have expressed surprise at how different they seem .... .... despite their close relationship ...
... i think the posts also imply that lex is even more different than the other ssris ...
.... but i, of course, could be wrong ... ... it's been known to happen !
TAKE CARE !!
