I am taking Provigil for depression.
At first, I thought my life had changed forever, and for the better...now, it doesn't seem to do much at all. My energy level is back to about 0. My doctor doesn't really know much about it, and I am only her 2nd patient to take Provigil for depression. I would like to know what doseage had been perscribed for others taking it for depression, and with which other ADs are you taking it? Thanks. Oh, I have even tried to contact the company that makes the drug...no luck yet.

I recently got Provigil for daytime sleepiness. I take Depakote for Bipolar at 500 mgs, morning and night. I thought that may be sedating me a bit but this daytime sleepiness was going on before and with plenty of rest.
I'm on day 24 of Lexapro because of more depressive than manic and it has been great in combo with the Depakote. I only took the Provigil once as needed but it did the trick of keeping me awake without the speedy buzz.
I'm also curious about it's effectiveness as an AD. Oh, I took 200 mgs the time I took Provigil.
Maybe others will "pipe up" here - lots of good experience and knowledge on this board! Thanks, Treb.

Thanks. To clarify, I'm taking 400mg Wellbutrin and 30mg Prozac along with the Provigil. The Provigil just clears away what I have always called 'cobwebs.' But now, I don't know how much Provigil to take, since my dr thinks 100mg is enough...and I don't think it is very much, at all.

I'll let you know how the 200 mgs do after I use it some more. For now I only use it at work. I was having some serious "head bobs" and it caught the attention of those who mattered.

I wish you the best of luck. Lord, I head-bob so much, I don't even notice it...which is scary. That's why I was so encouraged by the effect of the Provigil. I will look forward to hearing how your increased dosage works for you.
