I ran across this article and wonder what anyone out there in the medical profession or anyone in general thinks about this, True or False?

>Well, on the flipside, in the articles in the latest Scientific American issue on 'The Brain', they talk of using beta-blockers on a regular basis to stop memory 'flashbacks' and traumatizing memory in a blunting way. Some clinicians argue that ECT's effectiveness has some value with it's strong memory and cognitive processing affects. People with very bad anxiety disorders often have difficulty with not only antidepressants, but stimulants and such. (I know..there are always exceptions..) But, with PTSD, memory recall is often a very painful and cruel process. Paxil may work well in a combination of medications, to provide balance, but the use of single drugs these days for difficult to treat illnesses is rare. (Despite what those nice fluffy ads on TV tell us. :-)
Anyhow..IMHO..
