I recently lost my job and have dropped into a mild depression and high anxiety.
My primary care m.d. has given me a choice between Zoloft and Effexor to help me through this transition period in my life. I am wondering what the difference is between the two and if any of you have had experience with either or both?

Both are fairly good. If your depression
includes feelings of sadness and perhaps
rejection, then you may want to try Zoloft. If, however, your depression stems from
uncertainty, and/or worry about your
future, you may want to try Effexor.Linkadge

Thanks for your clear and helpful response.
I chose and began Effexor a week ago, but have been second guessing myself. It has been a rough ride getting onto this stuff. My m.d. suggests I drop before bed time instead of morning so that I sleep through some of this tiredness! Makes sense, huh!
Since i am more anxious than sad, I will continue to date Effexor and hope we will soon
live happily ever after!
This is the end of the thread.
