Medical Marijuana Use and Abuse

Posted by JonW on August 28, 2003, at 15:46:06

I find marijuana helpful, but what dose would be considered responsible and what would be considered abuse. Or more general question, what is the difference between use and abuse?

Smoking marijuana seems easier to control than cooking with it, but would it last longer in my body if I made brownies, etc? Are its effects any different? How much marijuana is necessary for cooking? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jon

If you suffer significant negative consequences
from the use and still use this could indicate you have abuse issues.

I always use less in food than I would to smoke.. I was told by a guy in Amsterdam that makes "brownies" for a living, that the heat of cooking increases the effects of the THC, and so you need less.

I would be interested to know what people think of as the difference between a casual user and an abuser.. hmmmm

Ya, I have to agree with Nikki, as the anti-drug movement has completely overblown the side effects of pot use. Anything can be *absued*..and that generalization applies to pot. You may want to get your hands on some of our fine Canadian/B.C. bud, which is pretty much the strongest in the world..;-)Our (Canada's) next step is hopefully complete legalization of pot use/production, but for now at the very most (if cops *even care*), they will give you something similar to a parking ticket here for poss. under 15 grams. (I think it's 15.)

Best,
James

here is is a ticket for under an ounce, 28.3 grams. Actually it is so much paperwork that
the cops just have you dump out your bag rather than write a ticket.

The effects from cooking & eating last about 2 to 4 times as long (like 6 to 12 hours). Effects similar, relatively speaking. Just be kinda careful-- many people put too much in the food and then end up getting REAlly really shtoned. Eat a little bit at a time and wait an hour, then continue until happy. :?)
