I fainted at work the other day for the first time. I felt hot, dizzy and nauseas and next thing i know i am on the floor with 20 people around me. I work in a hospital so people reacted quickly and sent me to ER....everything checked out fine with my heart, sugar, blood pressure. What causes fainting? Should I be concerned? Is there a cause or can it just happen?
Thanks

I know my mom gets dizzy and feels faint if she stands up quickly, it runs in the family. Some medicines can make you dizzy and faint, that how I get some times when I stand quickly ever since I started taking Wellbutrin. Especialy when I first started, there were instances when I would stand up just from siting and almost black out, I've been very amazed that I didn't pass out.

I am not on any medications and have no history of this. I was standing for about 60 minutes doing rounds and then began to feel the symptoms. I hate not knowing what causes something because then I can't prevent it.

Maybe you have a weak stomake? Have you been working at the hospital long? Or had you seen something disturbing?

I had this same reaction to Wellbutrin when I started taking it about four months ago. Every now and then I still experience that pounding in my head and dizzy feeling when I stand up.
Are you still experiencing this symptom?
