> For the past 10 yrs. I have been seeing a psychiatrist and only received relief from the combination of Prozac and Klonopin. Prozac pooped out or stopped working for me in the past year, and I also became aware that I have ADHD, which explains why I procrastinate, cant sit still am fatigued without coffee, have trouble reading long passages and the list goes on. I have heard good things about Wellbutrin, and really hope it is the cure to my nightmare. Being that I have an addictive personality and am currently going through a severe depression, in combination with ADHD, I would like to know if Wellbutrin is a good Drug for my problems. I was once put on Wellbutrin, but only 150 mgs. once a day for 3 weeks. The Psychiatrist who I was seeing told me I should of felt better if Wellbutrin was working, so I stopped it after 3 weeks. After careful research on Remedyfind or www.Remedyfind.com and reading posts on this website, it seems to me that Wellbutrin cannot be effective at the dosage I was put on. I have scheduled an appointment to see a new Psychiatrist who was highly reccomended at the end of this month, since I no longer trust my old Psychiatrist. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me what dosage Wellbutrin works for my Depression and ADHD? How long does it take, estimated, for the average person with my problems to see a difference? Finally what are the most common side effects of this medication? Thanks Goodfaith

Hi, my story is very similar to yours. I recently discovered that I have AHDH and I'm trying Wellbutrin for the first time (this is my seventh day). The reccomended dosage is 300 mg per day (150 mg twice a day). The side effects are highly subjective but reading the posts the most common seems to be irritability (and I can confirm it). Some experiences nausea but I have no problem with it. No problem with sex or weight gain for most people. Another effect reported is insomnia but I didn't have it even if 'till now I'm only on 150 mg (the second dose is more problematic because you have to take it at least 8 hours after the first). As every antidepressant you should try it for at least a couple of months before deciding if it's worth to take it.
Didn't you remind the side effects you had when you was on Wellbutrin for the first time ?I have used Anafranil (TCA) for years and it had been very useful for my AHDH but it made a mess with my social life (I was able to study and concentrate but I was very hostile to people and very shy at the same time, not to talk about lack of desire and weight gain).
so, let me know about your experience with WB and I'll do the same : ) don't worry about the side effects. the only way to know which they are is ... take it !
bye and good luck
