One month ago, i was reading on this board the threads about CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) and its virtues. And i tried it :-)
You know, i have been on medication (and i'm still on it) for 10 years and i gained 30 pounds.
Well, after almost 4 weeks on CLA i have already dropped 10 pounds. I have no more sugar craving (regulation of cortisol?). I take the brand Tonalin. I take 4 soft gel caps of 1000 mg before breakfast. That's all. I eat normaly. No diet And of course, i'm continuing to take my regular medication: Lithium + Effexor + Remeron + NADH (recently).
I keep my fingers crossed for further weight loss.

Just wondering, If at any point you were just taking Effexor and Lithium.
THanks,

>Hi there patriot :-)
In the past (2 years ago), i took Effexor XR + Lithium alone. Unfortunately it wasn't enough.
But with CLA i have always been taken (and still take) Remeron with Effexor.
Bye.

losing 10 pounds in 4 weeks is amazing!!
Ive bought some CLA lately and have only trialled it for a short time after finding out that it competes with fish oil.
Also stopped cos of contradicting studies and opinions.
will look more into it. I tell you what if i knew i was gonna lose 10 pounds in 4 weeks for only 4 caps a day i would... i dunno what I would do, but i would least take it :)

Well, I'm going to try it. I'll let you know what happens after a month.
Is that a large dose of CLA? Would you explain why you decided to take that much, Maximus?

Pretty simple.
Studies suggest that weight loss is optimal with a dose between 2000 and 3000 mg of CLA.
A soft gel cap (medium size) of Tonalin (1000 mg of fat) contains approx. 740 mg of CLA. So 4 x 740 = 2960 mg of pure Conjugated Linoleic Acid.
Bye and good luck!

Does anyone have any info on CLA's ability to regulate cortisol?
cheers
