Hello all,
My first time posting. I was on Paxil 10mg for a year or so for anxiety, then stopped a few months into my pregnancy in case of any risks to the baby. Well, anxiety returned full-force a few months later and my doc said I could return to Paxil (which worked great for me) or try Lexapro, which is newer and has fewer side effects. I decided to try Lexapro because the withdrawal from Paxil was pretty bad and I don't want to go through that again in the future. So now I've been on 5mg of Lexapro for a few days now.
I'm still worried about the baby though despite my doctor's assurances. Has anyone taken Paxil or Lexapro during pregnancy? And any comments on how the two compare in general?
Thanks.

Hello,
Congrats on your pregnancy!
I took Celexa in my 7th month for anxiety (derealization they call it). I was on 10 mg then I went to 15 mg and stayed there. It made a huge difference.
Everything was fine afterwards. My daughter was born healthy.
A year before that I had taken Paxil 15 mg for a long while. I never had any withdrawal problems. I'm now on Lexapro for a week now and I'm hanging in there. Is the Lex making you more hyper and more anxiety? It tends to do that in the beginning but hopefully for you (with the hormones in the mix) you won't have any side effects.
Take care and keep us posted!
Capri
