Have him research for himself. There are many sources of information for family members of those suffering with mental and emotional disorders. Look for books (library) or internet sites and read them together. Do you have a therapist? They can be of help to clarify things. It is difficult to try to explain the weird and upsetting aspects of these complicated disorders. Through education he can feel better how to be of help to you - if he doesn't have emotional issues, and I hope he doesn't, he will probably never "get it", but he could begin to understand.

He will never totally understand what you are experiencing, but through education he can be more understanding and supportive. Don't wait for him to research this disorder, print off some articles for him to read, check at your local library for videos that he can view to get a better understanding. If you are attending a support group or therapy I would encourage you to have him attend ALL those meetings with you.
There is a light at the end of this tunnel and you do need to support and encourage each other through this ordeal.
You're in my prayers.
God Bless
