I'm starting week 7 and am feeling a little more "clear headed" but am still experiencing sleepiness by 8:00 pm and groggy in the mornings when I get up. I take my daily dose at 7:00 am. I have a hard time even making it through a movie or show without falling asleep which has never been a problem before. Normally I go to bed about 11:00 pm. I'm also experiencing some mid afternoon headaches that will normally lighten up with Advil etc. but I never had headaches as frequent before starting Lexapro. I do have a follow up appt. with doc July 1 and will review progress with him of course but would appreciate any input from Lex users 7 weeks and up.

Someone here posted their observation that sleepiness overtook them approximately 10 hours after their dose of Lexapro. Perhaps it is worth a try to take your dose at noon so that the sleepiness occurs during you regular sleep cycle. I myself never experimented with Lexapro dosing, so I can't offer any evidence that it would work.
Good luck.

Hi Theo!
I don't have the headache problems. I take my Lex. at night. The problem I have is that I tend to wake up once an hour starting at 3 am, I do fall back to sleep it's like I'm watching the clock. I started with Lex in the morning and switche to nights so that I could sleep through the possible side effects. My pdoc says it does not matter if I take it at night or in the morning. I'm sleepy during the day but I blame that on the Xanax.Good Luck! Tim

I was first put on Wellbutrin but this did nothing to get rid of the symptoms of depression. So Lexapro was perscribed in Jan,2003. This drug did indeed calm the symptoms of depression. The only thing I find disturbing is the chronic fatigue. I want to sleep all the time & just plain worn out. I take my 10 mg dose around 6am every morning. Around 5pm I'm getting home to hit the bed. My sleeping has been disturbed as well. I drop to sleep instantly but staying a sleep is a problem. Has anyone any suggestions on how they deal with this? I've also had alot of problems with Plursy off & on since Dec of last year. I do plan on seeing my doctor again for the repeated problems with this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks......Subriagirl
