OK, here's my options people. Nardil is preety much working the same as before: very, very, good, but still a little lacking in some areas.
Give me some opinions....
1. Nardil + Zyprexa 2.5 mg
2. Nardil + Neurontin
3. Nardil + Bromocriptine
4. Nardil + Wellbutrin (not sure if safe, but heard it done before)
5. Nardil + Topamax
No Mirapex in Australia. No chance of Klonopin - government extremely strict about it.
What do you think is the better bet to clean up a little excess anxiety/derealization/OCD?
Any others I forgot...I'm sure I did.Thanks!
Ace.

i take nardil with neurontin 2400mgs and zyprexa 5mgs.
i think the neurontin makes all the difference in the world so im throwing out the zyprexa because of weight gain and adding Geodon and Mirapex.
Ace have you heard of people taken nardil with Mirapex?
good luck

How long have you been on Zyprexa?

ace,
to tell u the truth Zyprexa makes the world go round. it is so good as an augmenter. there are published papers of it helping OCD and neurontin has efficacy in helping OCD. its a toss up in weight gain. 2.5mgs of zyprexa is a little week. you should go BID. it helps with anxiety so much. i cant tell how many things it helps with. it an AD on its own. but the weight gain is a killer and then you have the chance of diabetes and a host of other side effects. im sure you looked them up. also it raises your cholesterol and bad lipids. i would go on Geodon as it is a very good AP and does the same work. i tried Abilify and it is horrible in the anxiety stage.
but all in all i think you would do excellent on 2.5mgs BID of Zyprexa.
good luck bro

ace--
i take 300 mg wellbutrin (just started this add-on) and 1200 mg neurontin with 40 mg Parnate (another MAOI). i've had some hypertensive issues with the Parnate, but they do not get worse with the wellbutrin (surprisingly, it sometimes goes down after taking it). The neurontin helps but I was on it before the parnate so i don't really know what is doing what.
the parnate seemed to help with everything EXCEPT energy level...i was very lethargic but seemed to be in a MUCH better mood--hence the wellbutrin. i think it's fine to try as long as you are taking your BP often the 1st couple of days or so.
as for the neurontin, A LOT of people say it loses its effectiveness QUICK and has to be constantly increased--something you might want to think about when it comes to cost.
i was on zyprexa last year and it made me gain 20 pounds in a month--and i'm a 25 year old triathlete who works out at least 3 hours every day (lifting and cardio)! i was BEYOND hungry...it was insane...the highlight of my day was going to wendy's at 11 PM to get a #7 and then going to the grocery store to get a 1/2 gallon of ice-cream. this was daily and the only reason i didn't gain more weight is because i didn't have access to food at work. it was awful. not to mention that i got more depressed on it (probably because i was turning into a fat ass).
hope all of that helps.

> ace,
> to tell u the truth Zyprexa makes the world go round. it is so good as an augmenter. there are published papers of it helping OCD and neurontin has efficacy in helping OCD.Dude, you are a legend for telling me this! Actually, your earlier post really made me think about it - we seem to have a lot of similiar probs. Yeah, I've read heaps of papers on Zyprexa doing great for OCD. By the way, the risk of EPS is so low on Zyrexa, even MORE at 2.5 or 5- it hardly exists! Actually, I've only ever heard of 1 person getting TD from Zyprexa - but this dude had a brain cingulotomy, so it was more likely that which caused it. Bottom line, Zyprexa is safe, even over very long periods.

> but all in all i think you would do excellent on 2.5mgs BID of Zyprexa.Cant thank you enough Ross!, that post and the one before, really an inspiration. I checked out Mirapex - it is absolutely safe with Nardil but I've never heard of anyone on it with Nardil. I say give it a go, if it doesn't work, bin it!
BTW, I've upped Nardil to 90mg today - 60mg just doesn't cut it. It's a lovely drug! I remember your old post Ross- 'I am the Nardil King"- great stuff bro! I loved that post, it was a big inspiration for Nardil!
One more serious question dude- If I do 2.5mg bid what time I should I dose?
> good luck bro

How long were you on it? Man, I am one skinny kid (well, until Nardil gives me the pot belly!) so I guess the weight gain wouldn't be too bad...I just don't have much $$$ for food! I'll have to eat rice all the time! What sort of dose were you on? Did you have a problem with w/drawal. Sorry for all the qstns, but I think I might be a little obsessive!

Thanks, all info is great,
Ace, Nardil Maniac 90mg (Back to my best dose as of today!)

Here you go man:
> Dude, can I ask how the Neurontin was helping?
>The first couple of days I just loaded up immediately at 1200 mg/day...my memory was so far gone that it seemed like 4 days were actually one--but it was good because I was on the maintenance dose and I didn't have to increase every week...I was good to go. It helps with anxiety and it does seem to chill me out. However, I am wondering how much it is making me tired. It's a toss-up between that and the parnate and I've heard it takes a while for the parnate to become stimulating. The first week it kicked my ass.
> Hmmm, did you get any insomnia with Parnate?
>
Yes, I did get insomnia with the Parnate, but I think it was because I was pretty much laid up on the couch all day due to the exhaustion it was causing--so that probably didn't help when I did try to sleep at night (all of those day-time naps)> i think it's fine to try as long as you are taking your BP often the 1st couple of days or so.
I think I'm actually going to ask the doctor about going on some BP medication...it's been up for five years on and off (and I'm a 25 year old male in excellent health and eat well and work out daily) and I'm thinking maybe some BP medication is needed.
> It really made you that hungry? How long were you on it? >I was on ONLY 5 mg! I know that they give this med to cancer patients to get them to eat (so my friend in medical school says)--it definitely does the trick...but yes, I ate CONSTANTLY.
Hope all is well ACE...did Nardil make you extremely tired in the beginning? Is the lethargy due to hypotension?
That's about it...would have posted sooner but I had a rough week.

Ace, or anyone else, by any chance could you post the pharmacological profile of Zyprexa... and even better, that along wITh profiles of some other APs? No big deal if its too much trouble or can't, but would be much appreciated.
That raging appetite increase, along with anxiety reduction and very low risk of EPS, sounds great. But if it would make me a brainless, lethargic zombie like Risperdal did, then it wouldn't be worth it at all.
Thanks. And good luck with all your trials.
