HI I was put on Paxil at (12.5 mg/d then 25) first and felt "out of it" but not much happier for three weeks. My doc switched me to Lexapro (10mg/d) and it was like a light had been switched on! I was by no means perfect but I could feel myself getting better.
That only lasted a week though, then the effects faded. SO he upped my dose to 20 mgs and I am starting to feel better (3 days in).
But I think what was going on was that I still had Paxil in my system and it was havign a synergistic effect with the Lexapro. I asked my doc about it and he said there is no point on being on 2 SSRIs because they all do the same thing...increasing dosage of the new med is the way to go.
I just wanted to get y'alls input.

It is pretty pointless. Just upping the dose of one you're on would be just as effective and more observable, etc.
This is the end of the thread.
