Hi, everyone!
I'm new to this board (it was recommended by a friend). I'm hoping that I might be able to find some advice/suggestions on how to deal with my problem.
Here's the situation: I lost my job about a month ago, and as I had just (three months ago) moved to a new city, I hadn't had time to find a new pdoc. Anyway, with the loss of my job has come the loss of my health insurance, which means I can't afford my medications (I'm on Adderall 20 mg/2x day for ADD, and 40 mg. Prozac for depression). I'm just about down to the last of my prescriptions, and I have no idea what to do. I can't even see a doctor about it, because the few pdocs I've called in my area have told me that an initial consult will be at least $200! I just have no idea what to do. xxx In any case, if anyone has any suggestions about what I should do, please post here... Thank you, and good mental health to all!

Try this link, as mentioned above, for help on meds http://www.needymeds.com/ There are clinics and hospitals that have to accept non-paying patients by law. I would STRONGLY recommend even joking about trying to obtain drugs illegally.

You're right, I shouldn't even joke about getting my meds illegaly. I was just feeling really desperate about the whole situation. Thanks for the information on the website -- I looked at it, and I think it might really help. I also got in touch with my old pdoc, explained the whole situation, and she's going to try to set something up with a local pdoc that she went to med school with, wherein I would be able to see her at a discounted rate. Hopefully, this will all work out -- I guess it's just another case of knowing when to ask for help, and from whom!
This is the end of the thread.
