Does Remeron cause Anger in some people?

Posted by McPac on June 5, 2003, at 17:28:34

I'm not referring to the short-term irritability that some folks get when first starting the drug; I'm talking about the ongoing long-term anger that the ssri's are known for invoking in some people?

Hello again. I've tried Remeron three different times with different mood stabilizers and that stuff made me irritable as hell! It was far worse than Wellbutrin or SSRI's. I almost got fired while I was taking that one-and I was on it for several weeks and it never got better-that's why I got off it.

>>>>>>Hi Ritch. That is VERY interesting!!!! WHAT dose of Remeron caused the problems, i.e. was it a lower dose or a higher dose, if you recall?
What is it with these newer drugs inducing anger? The older ad's caused dry mouth, these new trashy drugs cause people to go bonkers?

Hi, Remeron caused that at *any* dose. I tried 7.5mg, 15mg, and 30mg. I think some of the "newer" AD's have a tendency to do this because they effect norepinephrine a lot more (Rem and WB) and are much more activating. Although Remeron was VERY sedative for me (I hated that as much as the anger it caused), it also was simultaneously quite activating. I felt pressured to do a lot of things and although I wanted to sit still (because of the grogginess), I felt very restless when I did. I had zero tolerance for anything that ordinarily would make me even the slightest bit upset.
