Ok, so I went up to 225 mg Effexor a day about a week and a half ago, I had been on 150 for a few months. My question is... if I increase the dose to 300 right now, will the time it takes to respond remain the same? That is, will it still be 4-6 weeks from the time I originally upped to 225, or will I have to wait 4-6 weeks from the time I start 300? Sorry if this post isn't very coherent. I'm intelligent, but very scatterbrained.

Patience!! I think when I started it was around 92.5mg where I really noticed an improvemnet. I kept feeling better months later. I've been on it for about 2&1/2 years now and am at 225mg. The psychiatrist I'm seeing initially wanted me upto 300mg, but after a month at 225 she's decided to keep me here. I think I kept seeing improvement upto eight months after starting each dosage.

I would give it more time. It has taken 3 to 4 weeks minimum to feel the true effect of change in dosage each time except the initial titration up to 150mg. I just increased from 225 to 300 mg 3.5 weeks ago. I've finally started feeling better, and the temporary side effects have mostly gone away. You may not need to take 300.

How long were you at 225? It's where I am at now, it is definitely better than 150 but I still feel like I could get better. Do you see a big difference between 225 and 300?

I was taking 225mg for 9 months. I had improved so much after 5 months I was ready to start tapering back down, but my family doc warned me that winter was on the way, he always recommended that patients refrain from cutting back until spring; plus I knew my husband was certainly going to be deployed for the war. I'm glad I kept taking it, and I should have taken myself to the psydoc much sooner after my mental sitation worsened.
I feel much better after the increase, but I was pretty low, and she also has me taking 10mg of buspirone to try and moderate the bruxism side effect, so my experience may not be a good indicator of your results. I've definitely noticed an improvement in my depression. I actually can get myself out of bed on time most mornings, I'm procrastinating less, my concentration and overall mood has improved a lot. I've had a few stressful life situations occur since the increase and it has been a month now. I felt quite fuzzy for the first two weeks after the increase - don't know if it was the buspirone or the increase.

Welcome to 225 ..Well come? Come well?...grrrr takes ages.
I've come to the conclusion that efexor poops out after 2 years and needs increase...but no more than 225 for me...What next? Ha ! medicinal adventures..dr E

I went up to 300 mg from 150 mg a couple of weeks ago. The only thing I notice for sure is the inability to stay asleep at night plus extreme difficulty falling asleep. I don't know whether to stay here or go back to 150 and add something else.
