I have been taking remeron for depression and sleep but am probably going to have to drop it due to a new med regimen.
Can anybody tell me what your favorite sleep meds are?
I've tried both Sonata and Ambien but their short half-lifes make me wake up too early.
Klonopin is great but I try to only take it as-
needed because of withdrawal effects during the day when taking it long-term.Magnesium helps but it seems that it also can disrupt my sleep just as much as putting me to sleep.
So I'm looking for something that helps to get a solid night's sleep without too much morning hangover. Any ideas?

In reply to 1/2 what mg? (nm) » jaby, posted by JaneB on May 7, 2003, at 11:24:24
I know that was a lame answer, but I'm assuming since I'm having to split it it must be the smallest denomination which I believe is 5mg. I used to take a whole one, but found 1/2 worked just fine and left me feeling better the next day. I've taken sonata also which worked well, but left me out of it in the morning.

For those of you who like Ambien but find that it still wakes you up too early in the morning, you'll be glad to know that Sanofi labs is in phase III trials for a sustained-release formula, called Zolpidem MR. Its NDA is projected to be submitted by 2nd quarter of '04.

That would be SUCH a good thing for me. Thanks for the info.

Ambien- upset my stomache...I have ulcers
Sonata- made me manic...WoW what a trip!
Restoril- works great but addictive!
Vistaril- I take that now...worked for a few
months but then pooped out.Remeron- It really helps me sleep. Not for sure
how long it will work but it does the
now.Of course I may not be your best source of info. It's 2 am and I'm still going strong. But I haven't taken my meds yet though.
O by the way...while typing I thought I would light a smoke with a candle instead of a lighter and dumped hot wax all over me and my keyboard. Maybe I should take a hint and go to bed now huh.
This is the end of the thread.
