So I started taking Probiotics, and I don't know what did it, but I got a very weird itchy rash. So I stopped the Probiotics, folic acid, B12, flax seed oil and vitamins. I stopped taking everything but the Celexa which I have been on for about 3 to 4 months.
I have never had a rash in my life. The small bumpiness is gone, but I still have fine red dots and a little itchiness, but it is getting better. The doctor gave me corticosteriod cream, and I started taking an antihistamine for the first time in my life. Claritin to be exact. Anyways, my stomach, which I was having major problems with, they thought it might be a motility problem, is almost completely better. I also have so much more energy. I don't know if it is the Corticosteroid cream or the antihistamine, but the fact that my stomach feels normal in about 2 years is a small miracle.
Any suggestions what it could be?
Thanks.

I've heard of Benadryl having a beneficial effect on dopamine... maybe this is true for other antihistamines as well? Just a thought.

Strangely enough I have just read about them being a potentially very useful treatment for anxiety/ panic for some people, antihistamines that is, and not because of their sedating effects!!!
I have even thought of trying one myself, sounds like they mix ok with celexa which I am also on!
Keep us informed and good luckGlenn

> Thanks.I am going to posit a very simple answer--perhaps you have some allergies that were going untreated. Claritin addressed them and thus you have more energy and your stomach is not getting upset. I know that once I started treating my allergies, I got more energy. It makes perfect sense because when your allergies are treated your immune system is no longer overworking.

I have had situational panic in the past and what works the best for me is to take 1/2 a tab of Klonopin and 1/2 tab of Benadryl together beforehand. The Benadryl cools out my stomach, dries up extra secretions, slows it down, so my GI tract doesn't end up triggering a cascade of panic responses.
This is the end of the thread.
