The rep told my pdoc Xanax XR will be in pharmacies around the beginning of May- Hooray! I hate when it wears off suddenly and I freeze up with high anxiety. Hope it works.

I'll second that emotion! Xanax is the best thing for my anxiety - better than SSRI's - and has anti-depressant actions (for me) - but the short half-life isn't the greatest.Anyone know if the XR is once or 2x daily?

Here in Sweden Xanax XR been around for some time. The slow release version comes in 3 mg and is directed to take once a day.
I swithed from 2 mg regular xanax twise a day to the 3 mg slow release. Xanax XR lacks the sudden onset and is more constant in its effect, witch in my case is more prefered.
