My pdoc wants to try an MAOI, and possibly an antipsychotic as well (I think I'll try Abilify again, only this time with Klonopin for the akathasia).
I got what I now know is peripherial neuropathy on Abilify- anyone know about this? It's a tingling in the hands and feet. In my case, also the arms. I got it from Abilify and Risperdal. Does it indicate potential risk for dystonia??
And I want to try Nardil because it's single-dose, but I was thinking about Parnate because I do have ADD. My doc wants me on Straterra so we can combine it with an MAOI without risk(?) I'm currently taking Desoxyn. I have trouble still with motivation, although the Desoxyn works better than nothing.
I'm sure to get insomnia from Parnate-- what can I add for this? Dose of Klonopin? Ambien? Neurontin?

So your pdoc is looking at MAOI+Straterra with possibly no other meds (down the road)? This might be a good time to get Klonopin along with the mix since it works so well for you.

Most people get insomnia from MAOIs... You can take Trazodone (Desyrel), Benzos (long acting ones like Klonopin or Valium), or atypicals like Ambien and Sonata....I find a dose of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) helps a lot.
If you are going to try Parnate, and assuming your dose to start is 10mg 3x day, taking 20mg in the morning, and taking the last 10mg dose no later than noon helps a lot, too.
This is the end of the thread.
