I've started Paxil (on 10mg now, taking 20mg in a few days). In the mornings especially, I have this slight increase in blood flow to the penis. It doesn't make it fully erect, but partially.
Is there any herb that does the opposite of Ginko Biloba?

> Is there any herb that does the opposite of Ginko Biloba? You should be aware that there is a rare complication from SSRIs, including Paxil, called priapism. That's a persistent inappropriate erection which requires surgical intervention, as the trapped blood in the engorged tissue loses oxygen, leading to cell death in the penis. It is an emergency situation.

I debated how to answer, but embarassment might prevent the seeking of treatment. I thought that was worthy of addressing, even at the risk of appearing to be insensitive. It is a rare event, but easily treated, if treated in a timely manner.

I think it is better to inform people than to
not just because some people are uncomfortable
with this info. This condition, untreated,
can lead to the inability to have erections.
