I'm interested in trying buprenorphine for my TRD. I broached the subject, in a theoretical way, with my psychiatrist and he is under the impression that there are special restrictions placed on prescribing buprenorphine. He wasn't sure, just vaguely recalled reading something about it, in the context of treating opioid addiction.
So does anybody know what the straight dope (no pun intended) is on prescribing buprenorphine in California.

why don't you have him contact a local CA substance-abuse specialist in your area for a consult. ..
here's a list of "accredited" docs with experience in dealing with opoiods. They will probably be familiar with any state restrictions in place...
