Hi tammy, YES I did experience headaches-the tension type when I first started on Effexor-XR. They went away with time and eventually I didn't get them-as the Effexor-XR helped my stress and a lot overall. Anything else-I would be happy to help. Keep us posted:-)
All the best, Kristen

When I started the effexor xr, I found taking it twice during the day helped with the headache. Now I'm able to take it in the morning only, though I do think some of the symptoms I get in the evening may be caused from the once a day dosing. Hmmm... will ask psychiatrist if okay to add afternoon dosage again. (probably end up adding it on my own though)

Hi Willow, I think sometimes when we "add meds on our own" is ok-if we do it responsibly. I have done this and often get condemned for it. I don't overdose anymore and if one is very knowledgeable and again, responsible in doing this, I really think it is ok, and may help the psychiatrist out, really, in terms of allowing them to see what works and what doesn't. So I won't say don't add it on your own-cuz I'm just as guilty of it.
Take Care:-)

Yes - I was on 75 for about three weeks, then the third day of taking 150 I had a killer headache for about 20 hours. That was Sunday night - no probs since, but it suprised me how bad it was.
