lexapro tolerance?

Posted by wordfan on March 18, 2003, at 19:41:06

I started taking 10 mg/day of Lexapro about a month ago and after two weeks the difference was astounding. For the first time in my adult life, I wasn't depressed. I didn't need a drink when I got home from work and it felt as though a weight had been lifted from me. About 5 days ago my mood started sliding back to where it was and now I feel just like I have always felt. Is it possible I just built up a tolerance and need to increase my dosage? Any input would be appreciated.

Ask your Dr about upping the dose to 20 mgs a day. That's what I did and it makes me feel great! BUT... I have had 2 problems with the Lexapro, weight gain, and I need to take clonazepam to chill out. The Lexapro makes me jittery. But mentally, I haven't felt this good in years! Good luck!
