Dear Kristen,
I'm glad your day is better today. I have a question, please don't think it's stupid. I don't have a BP problem. I have a pretty well controlled anxiety thing. My question is.... when you're cycling, are you aware of it ?? Is it something you really feel in mood or phyical stuff or what ?? Or do you have to look back to realize it ?? I'm really interested. If you don't care to share, it's ok. I know everyone's experience is different. Just thought I might learn something from someone who lives it.
Thanks

Hi SBOATRN, the only question that may be stupid is the one never asked:-)no worries
Yes, I am usually aware of when I am cycling. But sometimes I am so out of it or upset-I don't.
It has way more to do with my mood than the physical feelings. I used to have to look back and realize it and often I never could. But I am getting a lot better at this and when I find myself or feel like I am cycling I try to take steps to help myself feel better.
Hope this helped, feel free to ask anything else concerning this-would love to answer any other questions you have.
Take care, Kristen

Kristen- Your too funny! About the cycling question. I don't realize when I am cycling. Only when I can't sleep. Usually someone else tells me when I am rambling on and switching topics in the same breath. Does that ever happen to you Kristen? What happens when your manic. I have hypomania so it probably isn't that bad. I get non stop ideas in my head of things to do and sometimes not good things to do like off myself. Hope you are doing well.

Well, it's true LOL I hope I can make someone laugh through all that we all go through.
YES, sometimes someone else tells me when I am rambling on and switching topics in the same breath, I do that a lot anyway. Cycling for me is when I get really moody. I go from depression to mania, depression more, for no reason that I know of anyway at times. It's a toughie. I've been told I get only hypomania, but sometimes, although rarely, I get the rapid mood swings as in Regular BP. When I do get manic, I just have a feeling of happiness, like everything is A OK. I move fast, spend, and just feel happy. Does that make sense? I also just feel like I can do anything-climb a mountain, etc. I will tell you though, when I stopped the Effexor, I got bad feeling worse.
Like you said, I have felt this way:
(I get non stop ideas in my head of things to do and sometimes not good things to do like off myself) again, though, I've gotten better at that-but don't get me wrong, I still have a hard time sometimes. Please hang in there k?
I'm always here for ya!
Kristen

I really appreciate the answers. I have a friend, who is fairly controlled. She doesn't know when she's on the higher side of things until it's over (in a crash) and a horrible depression sets in. I can tell 'cause she's really flying in speech, actions, etc... she also wants to shop and I watch her drop a load of money with the *I just want it, there's NOTHING wrong with me*. I really wanted to know how others saw their disease and if this was typical or not. Thanks so much !!!
