Hi dude,
You talk in your posts of experiencing depersonalization/derealization. Is this the underlying problem as well as OCD or is it just a symptom of depression/anxiety? Does the nardil help the Depersonalization.
I've been diagnosed with depersonalization disorder- just wondering if I should try nardil.
cheers man.
ps
Hows it goin with all those ladies of yours?

> Hi dude,
> You talk in your posts of experiencing depersonalization/derealization. Is this the underlying problem as well as OCD or is it just a symptom of depression/anxiety?No, it's a major problem. When I was around 12 I looked into the mirror and felt wierd depersonalization (I felt I did it to myself - changed my brain somehow!), since then (I'm 24 now) It's been getting worse and worse. Mainly deralization and phobic anxiety about it. I have derealization 'attacks' where they are like panic attacks (bodil sx) but the OVERWHELMING sympmtom is scary, scary derealization. The derealization feeling doesn't always culminate into an 'attack', but it is episodic, and the 'attack' is the episodic derealization basically but 99% worse. Certain things trigger it- certain times of the days, certain days, being out of the house at night time etc.
And yes, I also have severe OCD.
Does the nardil help the Depersonalization.ABSOLUTELY YES! Amazingly. It has knocked the derealization and phobic anxiety out big time. Only a little bit left. Also made me 90% of the time VERY happy and has knocked OCD out by 60-70%. We are adding Lithium now for the OCD and the 10% left-over derealization/phobic anxiety. I'm confident it will kill the remainding 'scraps' after Nardil smashed the big part into bits! Hows that for a analogy!
Nardil is my little baby. If I die with it swirling in my blood stream I'll die a happy man!

> cheers man.Out of all the drugs please use this baby. I've tried older, newer antipsychotics. SSRIs suck. Mellaril made derealization worse. So did Anafranil.

>Cheers for the reply man, that was encouraging.
I've tried about 10 AD's all have made me worse. Tried all sorts of other crap too. Quite often peeps can suffer Depersonalization as a symptom from pretty much all other mental illnesses. I have primary DP, as in its the cause of my depression, GAD, Social phobia, not a bi-product of having them. ie when my mood changes my DP stays the same ,its chronic 24/7 and freaks me out to f**k.Can't do shit at the moment, leave the house or anything, seems far too surreal out there, especially if its sunny. Don't know if you can relate to this.
Might push for the mighty NARDIL, although AD's in the past have screwed me up so bad, I'm a bit concerned.
Easy dude
