I am augmenting my effexor xr with 125 mgs of depakote but since starting the depakote, I am angry and short tempered. I felt good mood-wise on just the effexor but the anxiety was crazy hence the depakote. Could the depakote be causing the angy outbursts??

I'm also taking depakote with efexor and yep at the start i got angry and irritable . It eased within in couple of weeks..

Hi tina,
There could be many reasons causing your "angry outbursts". IS it anger or are you really lashing out? Could you describe? I took Depakote at one time and I felt really irritable on it among other side effects. But if it works for you I am happy for you. As I think you may know-I am also on Effexor 75mg at night now. May I ask if you think there is anything or anyone that is contributing to these outbursts you speak of to make you feel the way you do?

Since my dose has been increased-1000mg I cannot sleep ..sleep at most 2hrs ??
