I've been on Abilify 7.5mg for two weeks now. I've experienced quite a bit of akathesia. I would feel the need to move my legs around while in bed. I could not concentrate for too long on any one thing. I wouldn't be able to complete tasks due to the restlessness.
I've been trying to wait this out and a few days ago these symptoms began to disappear. I am still having some of these symptoms, but they are lessening each day.
I am still waiting to report on other symptom control as I think it is too early yet. But I will give you all an update.
I'd like to hear why others are taking this med. Anyone? Anyone at all?

Hi. I've been inching up the dose for several weeks. I'm now alternating between and eighth and a quarter of a 15 mg tablet. I'm taking it to help with refractory bipolar depression. It seems to have some benefit, but I feel agitation/resltessness at this dose and, worse, MY BRAIN WON'T WORK. It is all I can do to read a paragraph or write. Forget synthesizing information. How many people have a foggy brain on this stuff? I'm not sure how long to wait this out. I figured that since I've been increasing slowly, I would adjsut to this dose okay. Maybe it's just too high.

Hi Emme. Thanks for responding. The feeling of agitation and restlessness is so uncomfortable.
I read a post by babs that mentioned this agitation should pass. I am hoping for that.Good Luck.
This is the end of the thread.
