Off lexapro still foggy... several months

Posted by markmn on February 28, 2003, at 14:50:36

Hi all,

Okay, so I've been off Lexapro for about three months and I still feel a bit foggy or heavy in my head and eyes. I was on paxil for a couple years, went onto Lexapro for two months then switched back to Paxil. Has anyone else felt this way. My eyes are kind of screwy also. Maybe it's just sinus probs but it's very suspicious.

Thanks, take care,
mark

I had the same problem with Lexapro and I think it did take a while for the brain fog to fade. But the anxiety I had while I was on it faded fast once I was off of it. Back on celexa now and feel a lot better.

Why not try celexa. Despite the similar biochemical make-up, it's nothing like Lexapro. It'll make you much less tired and craving carbs than Paxil. And in my opinion, it works just as equally as Paxil as an AD and for social anxiety.

Mark,

I was on Lexapro, and my eyes would get kind of funky too. Like it was hard to focus right. My doctor said that lexapro causes that for some people. I stopped taking it 2 weeks ago and have had really bad with-drawal. The dizzyness and electric shock thing everyone talks about, but much more severe depression. Most of it seems better now, but the depression is still pretty bad. I'm trying to figure out how much of it is still withdrawal, and how much is my regular depression. It's really disheartening to hear that after several months you are still having problems. Did withdrawal increase your depression?
