Testosterone therapy - UPDATE

Posted by jerrympls on February 24, 2003, at 20:30:54

I started androgel (testosterone replacement) about 2 weeks ago. So far - nothing. Not sure how long it takes to begin feeling improvement. No side effects good or bad either. Anyone out there been on androgel??

Thanks

BTW I'm 31yr old male

Hi:
I have been on testosterone injectionsfor the past 13 years, though not Androgel. I take it, not for depression, but because I was born with a rare form of hypogonadism. So, I've had a lot of experience with testosterone treatment. I would give it more time. The effects will probably be subtle and gradual- might take several months. I would expect you should notice some difference by then if it is going to work.

Thanks for your reply. I saw my dr. yesterday and he said to give it atleast a couple months. That's good news actually- because I thought I was supposed to feel something in the first week. Do you find that your testosterone causes weight gain or weight loss??

Thanks!
Jerry

I gained weight at first, but I had not gone through puberty (at age 25, no less!). Now, I don't find any chages in weight when I take an injection.

(btw, my real name is Jerry, too!!!)
