Witch AD meds would you categorize as activating resp. sedative?

I been on zoloft and celexa. Celexa did not get me as upbeat as zoloft did. Zoloft is the drug for me these days. How about efexor and Prozac?

Zoloft got me upbeat at first but Iended up having to take Depakote and a benzo with the odd dose of zyprexa or Risperidal to keep it from sending me 'sky high'. Celexa did little for any upbeat thing. I've been on effexor for 3 years and take imipramine and a benzo with the odd zyprexa when needed. Again though Efffexor made me really manic at first until I added in the other meds. Hope that does help. Marc.

I found zoloft and prozac similar in how 'stimulating' they are. I haven't tried any other SSRIs.

As for Effexor, I found it a bit more stimulating than zoloft/prozac...I think the norepineprhine effects from Effexor really help in that regard.
