I am taking Celexa. I am at about day 10 and it is causing havoc on my guts. It does get better, but not much. I like the way I feel on Celexa, but the painful burping and burning acid is really upsetting me. It's hard to get better when you are in pain. I am taking motilium, but it doesn't help much. I tried Nexium and Pantaloc last time on Celexa and they did nothing.
Next-up, I am going to try Zelnorm. But more importantly I would like to find an AD, preferably a SSRI in patch form, that bypasses the gut.

I don't know. I have not heard of a patch form. Do you think it would help to cut it in half and take half a pill in the morning and half later in the day?

I've not heard of a patch form.
Have you tried Prozac? They have a weekly form, I believe its simply called Prozac Weekly. You just take one pill each week. I haven't done much research or heard much about it. There may be others here that could tell you more about Prozac Weekly.
I was wondering if that would help instead of taking a pill everyday?

Don't know about others but know there is current research re Nardil in patch form. Not on the market as yet though.

Only selegiline is in a patch so far sadly, the day they put a med called clorgyline into a patch is the day a lot of people say bye bye to depression, however to answer your question I take celexa and it took me 3 months to get upto 20 mg because of the side eefects, I am ok now but will only take the liquid version, this may aa a previous poster said help, Dr Shipko on the pdi likes a medicine called carafate for stomach problems so you may want to look into this.If celexa helps you might do well to try and counteract its effects before moving on as sometimes like as in my case it takes ages to find one that works, A strange but possible solution might be to encase the liquid in a capsule, however it would be worth looking into possible consequences before doing that, a good pharmacist might help you on that. It took me months to find a solution to my big problem with celexa but I finally have, so good luck

I went to the hospital library today and looked up the different drugs and what forms they come in. It is pretty easy to get an SSRI in a liquid form, although I don't think that will help.
The only medication that might be of help is Catapres. It comes in a patch. Buspar comes in a patch, but it is not available in Canada. So don't know if it is available anywhere else?
Thanks everyone for your help. I don't know why they don't create an SSRI patch, I would think it would have less gastro problems, then again maybe not.
