I have never heard of lithium improving OCD.Omega-3 fish oil ,which I note you are taking from a thread higher up this page, can greatly improve OCD.I report some cases on my site at www.omega3.20megsfree.com

I have noticed a great improvement after taking the fish oil.
After having stopped the Celexa (for activation of mania) I have extreme irritability. The lithium is helping this and wanted to know if it might help OCD as well. I'll keep you posted. It does have the ability to raise serotonin and regulate dopamine so who knows.

Actually, lithium has been used for what has been termed 'episodic OCD' (namely, people who go through periods of suffering from OCD, but aren't constantly battling it)...and it was a successful treatment for a good number of people with 'episodic OCD'. I don't know if lithium has ever been used for people with regular OCD, but I too am curious if it would help. It certainly interests me...I would be interested in giving it a try sometime for my own OCD, if I run out of other options (currently on zoloft)...

It's serotonergic properties suggests it could help as serotonin is linked with OCD. It seems to help me with mild OCD. It makes you less agitated and concerned with BS.
This is the end of the thread.
