I just started taking 1.25 mg(half a 2.5 mg pill) at night and it works great for sleep. Will this small dose help my delusions and paranoia? Or would I need a higher 5 mg dose? Problem is that 5 mg makes me sleep 17 hours

>Well is that really so bad? The important thing is you're not paranoid. Besides, being awake is only necessary if you're in the military anyhow.

It made you sleep 17 hours....how many days?
It takes days, sometimes WEEKS to adjust to a new chemical in your body.
You need to give it a chance.

The right dose of any AP med to take is the smallest dose that works. I would suggest that if your current dose does not affect your psychosis, then you need to increase the dose. There are other meds than Zyprexa to take. If you have too many side effects from one medication, you can switch to a different one. Sometimes you can add a side effect medication like Cogentin. I hope you feel better soon.
