I am currently taking half a 2.5 mg tablet of zyprexa(1.25mg). I am taking it for sleep, tourrets, delusional thinking. Has anyone ever taken a lower dose than 1.25mg?

Is there a reason you are curious about a smaller dose such as 1.25mg?? I've been on and off zyprexa 5mg. and 2.5mg. and 5mg. makes me sleep all the next day when I take it at night.

I am just wondering if there would be a benefit of taking a dose smaller than 1.25mg

I can say that from my experience, a small dose such as 1.25mg. would just alleviate mild anxiety and that's it. Maybe useful for sleep, taken at night. Have you tried taking larger doses? Do you like its effects or not? I know I didn't since it clouded my mind and over sedated me.

Sorry, but I am not a big fan of zyprexa, but would tell and ask all at next pdoc's appointment. I took a low dose to sleep on night when ambian did not work , but gained 25+ pounds in a month. I had been increasing the milage I was running and cycling and still could not control wieght and that has never been a prob for me. doc swithed me to serequil and things got better fast. best of luck, ~tony
