So, I heard a rumor (from my knowledgeable Psych receptionist) that they may be phasing out the production of Parnate. They would phase it out to give people time to go onto something else. How nice of them - if I had something else that worked I'd be on it!
I really hope this is rumor as Parnate is the only thing that has helped me in a very long time. Anyone have further information?

Yes, I was aware of the whole Nardil hullabaloo (although they did actually run out for a little while). I was wondering if the Parnate rumor was a separate rumor. But perhaps you're right and Nardil got confused with Parnate.
Let's hope they're all unfounded rumors!

God help us, if Parnate were to be discontinued. This was a lifesaver for me for 18 years. Are the drug companies trying to kill us? Could someone please contact the appropriate people to verify the truth?

This should be easy to figure out--contact smithkline the makers of parnate. I highly doubt this rumour is true, by the way. They are the only makers of parnate and they must turn a profit on it because it costs them nothing to make. Though maybe there are some liability issues. Who knows?
If anyone gets info, post it.

Okay, I'm a little embarrassed since I made the original post - but I just called GSK (US) and the man said he's not heard anything about that and he's on the committee that would hear first. He was a pharmacist for GSK and sounded fairly knowledgeable.
So, I'm feeling relieved and a bit stupid for simply calling in the first place (don't know why I didn't think of it).
Anyway, for now at least, we're safe.
