Yeah... I guess Tryptan is the brand name of the drug? Does it do anything?

Hi,

Yes...I recall it had a similar effect as the SSRI drugs. I found if I took too much, I couldn't sleep and would get hyper-anxiety, but in regular doses, it seemed to work well on both my sleep and overall feeling of wellness.

You might want to try a Medline search on tryptophan
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/
(which is an amino acid also btw...and I recall it was priced fairly good/cheap also.) Your doctor may ask you to take it on an empty stomach, so it doesn't have to compete with other proteins.
