hi
been on wellbutrin(300) for a week(was on effexor)
why cant i sand it when my kids talk to me!
i feel so mean-not explosive,just feel like i need to be alone-will this get better?
i also take a bit of eltroxin
and a smidge of seroquel at night.
if i cant be a good mom i am nothing.

It is *very* possible that the Wellbutrin is causing your irritability problems. Just do a search on here, and you will find many with the same experience. I also turned into an irritable grouch on the stuff. Like you said, even if I wasn't "explosive", it's like this "..leave me ALONE!" feeling underneath.
I'd say having that reaction to antidepressants, you will want to look at adding a mood stabalizer to your prescription. For now, a good benzo will help ease some of the angst.

I'm a mom of 2 boys. I couldn't stay on the Wellbutrin because of the irritability. It doesn't mean you won't respond well to antidepressants -- just that you get irritable with that particular one. My advice . . . do your kids a favor and switch to something else.

I have tried Wellbutrin (IR/SR) thrice, and definitely experienced the distancing feeling from other people along with irritability/hostility/panic symptoms.
