Hello,
I have been advised to consider switching from my current Luvox (100 mg per day) to Celexa or its new version, Lexapro. I am taking the Luvox for anxiety and a little occational depression. It helps, but it also makes me quite tired for the 1st half of the day.
Does anybody have any advise on how to switch? Do you just stop the Luvox one day and take Celexa or Lexapro the next? Or do you have to taper off the Luvox and build up the Celexa/Lexapro?
Thanks,
Malcolm

Here's a link to some guidelines for swapping or stopping:

There's a pdf there with specific drugs listed in table form. I didn't see Luvox there, but have a look anyway.

Hi Malcolm,
The switch shouldn't be very problematic, as both meds are SSRIs. When I switched from luvox to celexa I was told to simply stop taking one and begin the other the next day. I was on less than 100 mg at the time, however. What does your pdoc say?
Kari.
