A spoonfull of SaCO2 lets the med go down!

Wow. After giving up on Desoxyn and letting it sit in my pill drawer for a month, I finally took someone's advice to take it 20 minutes after taking 2 teaspoons of baking soda (Arm & Hammer, 60 cents at CVS).

And wow! I took 20mg of Desoxyn. Um, it feels like 20mg of Ritalin. My heart's a bit fast, my blood pressure appears fine, and I feel like a dork. I asked for Desoxyn because I wanted to see if it would make me feel less anxious.

Well, um, I don't know. The problem is I have social anxiety. So I can be feeling like a million dollars because I assume my new med of the week is working, and in one second something triggers my social anxiety and I'm back to feeling like an well-inflated balloon that's suddenly popped.

So I don't know. It makes me feel like Ritalin, that dorky feeling, you know? Anyway, so I don't know what's so great about it if it just makes me feel like Ritalin. Adderall's nicer because it's "smoother"- less dorky feeling, but still keeps me on track with school work.

Oh well. My mind changes a lot on what I think of meds, so I'll keep you updated as I get more experience with using it. And I'm only on 20 because I tried 5mg and 10mg several for days with no effect, so I took 20 just to see if any effect was possible. I will try 15 tomorrow, and then 10 again. Keep in mind baking soda may make the absorption different, because the methyl group is metabolized at the stomach, which extracts it to form d-amphetamine (Dexedrine). Hence the cause of the stomach upset for me, as my stomach didn't like doing this.

How did you choke down that much baking soda? Isn't it kind of disgusting?
