This med is different from anything else I have ever tried. I'm worried that I'm damaging myself. At 30mg. I feel it starting to kick in. It deffinately works well on social anxiety. I also noticed it is reducing my hand tremor. It does'nt seem to cause any cognitive side effects, in fact it seems to improve my concentration. I think what bothers me is that I just do not feel myself: I'm affraid it does'nt help my anhedonia, In fact maybe worsens it. I'm funtioning better but I don't feel any beter. I'm also on ritalin 20mg, wellbutrin SR-150mg, lexapro 20mg . I have been getting stiff & achey all over with migrains since reaching 25mg

Don't give up too soon! This drug has great antidepressant/mood stabilizing properties. Works great for anxiety. You should ask your doc if you can back off on the antidepressants. The combination of all of these meds you are on may interfere or may be too much since starting the Lamictal. I started it in early spring. I was able to cut back half the dose of my antidepressants since starting Lamictal. I slowly reduced the dosages. I found my therapuetic window at 100mg. Talk to your doctor.

Did you ever get the irritability from Lamictal that some here talk about? (I thought it was supposed to 'mellow' you out, not the opposite!)
Also, did you ever take Zoloft while on Lamictal? The reason that I ask is because Zoloft significantly raises the Lamictal blood levels, which is what gives me concern about taking it.
Finally, you say the Lamictal works great for anxiety...really? I haven't heard many here mention that. If so, that would be a huge plus for me!

I have never taken Lamictal with Zoloft. but I am taking it with Lexapro. I have experienced some increased irratability from the Lamictal.
At work I noticed that I have been much more calmer. I'm able to speak to others with no discomfort or self conciousness. This med when combined with the others I'm taking seems to work almost as good as Nardil worked for me in the past.

I got a little irritable with it when I first started. This will pass. You do get a boost when you first start then it will taper off. As I SLOWLY cut back on my antidepressants and increased the Lamictal my moods became more stable and even. I never took zoloft with it. I take a very low dose of paxil and imipramine with the Lamictal.Laura.

Hi Lawrence,
My name is Chad - and I have SP also. I have not tried out lamictal, but have tried lots of other stuff and currently take low Nardil + klonopin.
May I ask what is your regimen and doses, etc. I am interested in lamictal because it seems to work well for many here ... and I am always interested in meds like lamictal which can be activating - and can also boost dopamine (at least as the claim is especially in presence of another dopamine agonist.).
Thanks for any follow up...
Chad
