I've been on 20 mg Celexa for almost 4 weeks. Depression slightly lifted, anxiety still rather high. Today I had what I guess was an anxiety attack--finally took some vitamin X (Xanax) to cool out--felt like I was going to lose it.
What do you think I should do now? Increase my Celexa? Stay at 20 mg for awhile longer and see what happens? Or add something like Klonopin?
What a drag...

Hi. I'm on 30mg of Celexa and have anxiety problems. I take 1 1/2mg of Klonopin per day plus .5mg of Xanax and that really helps keep the anxiety under control. Good Luck! Teri

What is your dosing schedule for Klonopin? .5 mg 3x/dy? Do you take Xanax every day or just when needed? Does it make you tired during the day? Celexa knocks me out and I'm concerned with adding additionally sedating meds--although the anxiety is probably worse to deal with.

Hi. My anxiety was really bad when I first saw my doctor. I had been taking Effexor XR which made it worse and I was taking 3 Xanax a day to get through things I had to do. This new doctor took me off of that and put me on 20mg Celexa and 3mg of Klonopin plus Xanax as needed. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome but when I get really burned out from stress the anxiety is increased when I get too tired. Well, 3 mg of Klonopin really wiped me out. He had me on 2 at night and one in the morning. Plus the Celexa was making me sleepy. My depression seemed to be better on 20mg of Celexa but then it came back and he increased it to 30mg. I also cut the Klonopin to 1 in the am and 1 in pm plus Xanax as neeeded. The sleepiness of the Celexa wore off and the knock out feeling of the Klonopin also has worn off. I still get the relaxed feeling on the Klonopin kind of like what Xanax feels like but not as heavy as at first. I'm trying to take 1/2mg of Klonopin during the day and then 1 in the evening and then I've been taking 1 Xanax before I go to bed. Like I said, my anxiety is pretty bad and insomnia goes along with it. So far this combo plus starting yoga has helped alot. I've been on all kinds of medications but this has been the best for my anxiety. Still playing around with it, though. One good thing about Klonopin is that it stays in your system longer so the anxiety is controlled for most of the day and evening. The Xanax is for breakthrough anxiety that can happen sometimes. Celexa does the opposite to me, It wakes me up. I need the Zyprexa to put me to sleep.
