Hi All
I am new to this board and am very pleased to have found a good place to talk and ask questions. Could anyone please tell me if Geodon is used for depression. Over the past 8 years or so I have been on a number of medications and none have really worked to any satisfaction. If you have had any experience with this med I would like to know about your experience. Thanks,
Stephen

A pdoc in NYC who did several clinical trials with Geodon recommends pushing the dose high if it's used as an anti-depressant. My experience concurs with this. I ended up stopping it because it was making me sweat, but a lot of serotonergic meds do that to me.

I was given geodon for psychotic thoughts, once I reached 80mgs. I had an allergic reaction (I guess thats what it was it hasn't gone away fully yet) and my speech became distorted (I could not be understood at all) and its still hard to form words, but I can be understood, but my "s" still give me a hard time. My pdoc. now has me on seroquel and is easing me up in dosage.

Hi,
Im on only 40mgs at nite and it seems to have
cut my depression some. Im still a little paranoid though. I just started taking zoloft to help the depression adn then probably will have to add more geodon. I had heard that lower doses were good for depression and higher doses were good for psychosis, but its just hearsay. I dont really really know.,Sienna

Hi,
My doc was suggesting that I could take geodon. He said that it wouldn't make me gain weight like the Zyprexa was doing befor. He didn't know much else about the drug yet, and I wondering if it wouldn't be worth a try.
