I have recently decided to wean off of Celexa b/c I'd like to become pregnant. I was initially put on it b/c of a poor attempt to discontinue Klonopin that left me depressed and very anxious. I was on Klonopin for anxiety. I have been feeling great at 20mg for a little more than a year. I weaned down at 10mg for two weeks. I felt anxious for a few days, but then much better. I am now at day 4 of no Celexa. I am feeling edgy, jittery, very emotional and moody, and anxious. I am hoping it is just the withdrawal, but fear it may be a re-emergence of my anxiety and panic. Help! Any similar experiences or words of wisdom??? Thanks, Kadoo

I know this may not be the answer you were looking for, but I will just say that any abrubt change in the body chemisrty could cause such symptoms.
On a lighter note, it has been my understanding that discontinuation of an SSRI may be difficult for some people. I had no problem stopping Zoloft, but Paxil was difficult to quit.
Perhaps a dose of Elavil at 5mg twice a day or 10mg a day each night for a couple weeks may ease your symptoms, then you can discontinue the Elavil.
Another option would be try to take 5mg Celexa a day for a few weeks, then every other day for a week or two before stopping.
