Ross,
Can you remind me of what drugs you had tried before trying Nardil and whether or not they worked?

i have tried just about every med out there and basically they all worked pretty well. im taking Nardil because of its social anxiety properties. and also i cant find a better anti-anxiety med than it. i had good success with:
effexor and remeron combo
celexa and remeron combo
just about any ssri and remeron combo
did really well on Anafranil back in the day.
did really well on prozac
listen denise, these boards are really good but there are to many people like me that make up illnesses and have to try every drug.
when its all said and done a prominent doctor called Jack Gorman and Ivan Goldberg all say every med is just about effective as the other....
what are you taking or want to take?

Ross,
Thank's for getting back to me. I've tried Dothiapin which made me feel more agitated and depressed, prozac, more agitation, Remeron, more agitation, Effexor, drowsy and sad, Sertraline, agitated, 50mg of Lamictal, neither better or worse. I was thinking of Nardil but I wastn't sure if it would just be more of the same, I know it works in a different way to the others but as all of the others seemed to work for you perhaps that's an indication that the Nardil won't work for me.
Note, Sertraline, Seroxat and dothiapin worked great for me at one time.
The only thing that keeps me going now is Zyprexa.

denise you have to bite the bullet and try soe trycylic's. it seems you have bad sensetivity to the ssri's. have you ever tried anafranil? it is a great med. or pamelor?
zyprexa has a good antidepressant effect. i take it also.
also have you augmented an ssri with a calming drug like remeron or serzone or zyprexa? they take away all the agitation one has. plus are u taking any benzo's?

Denise,
Have you gained a lot of weight with Zypexa? Have you had an appetite increase? Weight gained without appetite increase?
Ignore questions if no weight increase. (And congratulations)

Hi Shelli,
I take 10mg of Zyprexa as and when needed. I've not had any weight gain on Zyprexa but I can see why people do. As soon as I take one I feel hungry but I chain smoke (not a good think I know) which takes away the hunger pangs.
You are taking Zyprexa aren't you? Have you put much weight on and how much are you taking?
I find Zyprexa really calms me down and makes me think more clearly and rationally, I'm not sure though if Barbituates would do the same thing, have you tried barbituates, if so what effect do they have?
