Thanks,

> LisaIts doubtful that inositol would be helpful as a primary medication for panic disorder and agoraphobia. Inositol is simply not strong enough to combat these illnesses. Inositol is another OTC supplement thats being hyped by the supplements industry as being a "miracle" cure for some depression and anxiety. Take what the supplements industry says with a BIG grain of salt.
To fight panic disorder with agoraphobia, you will most likely need prescription drugs. Antidepressants, benzos, Buspar...that kind of stuff. Aerobic exercise helps panic disorder. Inositol is a longshot for any halfway serious mental illness. It might be useful as an adjunct treatment to your drugs, but would probably not be necessary if your drugs are working well. Thats about the only use I can see for inositol, as an adjunct treatment with drugs.

Yes, unfortunately I agree, but I was hoping someone would tell me differently. Since I'm not having much luck with the AD's out there, I was thinking that maybe down the line after some "real" psychopharmocology, that Inositol could help me maintain. St.John's Wort helped me maintian pretty well for 4 yrs. after 4yrs on MAOI's. I think the trick is to first get the brain chemistry back to "normal", not a place I'm at!
