Ok, I just went to www.prozactruth.com/zoloftstories.htm and read a whole bunch of horror stories suppossedly from people on Zoloft. I just started taking it two-and-a-half weeks ago and I really need to hear some Zoloft success stories. Today was my third day on 100mg and I have had a huge headache and have felt overall worse than I have since I started. Is it possible that I could feel worse after this long but then still feel much better after more time? Also, has anyone been on Zoloft, maybe even for only a few months, then stopped and gotten through the withdrawl and side effects and felt completely normal eventually? Please let me know if you have or know someone who has because I know that if anyone else can be fine after stopping then so can I.

Hi again Preston,
I can't stress it enough to talk to your doctor.
Heres a scary story. When I first went on zoloft, I started losing my hair. I freaked out. After 3 months, it stopped. I was only on 50mg.
When I started again after my break from zoloft, it didn't happen to me. To be perfectly honest, zoloft has saved my life. You need to decide what your priorities are, and calculate whether feeling odd for a few months whilst your body adjusts to the med is worth getting a functioning, normal life back.
Talk to your doctor.

I was on zoloft for around eight years. Actually, it really worked for me-could say it saved my life. I remember feeling having some problems at the beginning- but its been so long I don't remember what they were. Anyway, I stuck with it and felt good for a long time.
I stopped taking it due to physical problems I thought were due to the med, but I actually think they are due to other things-hormones, thyroid, etc. . .I'm working this right now with my MD. Also, women metabolize this med slower than men so I may have needed to lower the dose.Anyway, I was off zoloft for a little while after slowly tapering the dose over a month- after eight years, you want to go slow- and I was fine.
After being med-free for a very short time, I tried some other a/d's, but didn't like them and am back on zoloft again.I found this to be a pretty good med. I have scary stories I could tell you about other meds I've tried, but not this one. I should know, was/am on it long enough!

Hi,
I've been on Zoloft for five years. I just finished sending an email to my sister informing her of how it helped me retain my sanity and saved my marriage. I don't know your symptoms, but Zoloft has helped me with irritability, crying, mood swings, and wanting to be alone in the bedroom for days. Lately, I feel irritable like before so I am going back to my doctor for feedback. The only complain that I have is on the sexual dysfunction side effect. It really is getting worse and worse as the years go by. I'm troubled by this because my husband and I want to have a family soon and it's pretty hard when you are not in the mood. I wonder if I can survive without Zoloft. I won't be able to take Zoloft, according to my GYN, if I become pregnant. I hope I don't have a scary story to post then. Nonetheless, monitor yourself and inform your doctor with anything you are concerned.

Thanks for the information and advice. I think I will stay on Zoloft for at least two months and then if I still feel like I do right now, I will taper off and see what happens. I know that I can always start taking AD's again if I get horribly depressed again, so I guess I will just wait and see.
This is the end of the thread.
