I need some feedback. I would like to know which of my meds is trashing my sex life? I take Celexa, Nortryptiline, Buspar, Lithobid, and Seroquel. Please, can anyone clue me in? Thanks a bunch. Mimi

SSRI's tend to be the worst offenders, like Celexa, Prozac, Paxil, ect.
TCA may cause problems to a lesser extent. Tends to be dose related.
The other three I would be less suspect of, but may not help the situation.
In the Psychobabble archives there are many "antidotes" to sexual dysfunction on meds, like ginko biblo and other herbs. Also check Dr. Bob Tips. A loving and understanding partner is very important too.

rjk,
My libido is diminished and it takes longer to climax. Does that answer your question?

It really sucks, and is one big reason I'm wary of ever going on an SSRI again.

I really appreciate your post. It's invaluable info for me. I'm going to cut back on the Celexa. Do you know if the tricyclics have the same effect? I'm also on Nortryptiline.

> MimiIt's quite possible that a tricyclic like nortyptaline could be affecting your sex life, as this is a known side effect. However, the effect of the SSRI is undoubtably much greater.
good luck in your trials...i've found that reboxetine increases my libido and wellbutrin makes me orgasm more quickly.
