For a 2 days I`ve now been taking 150 mg Moclobemide for ADD.
The first thing I noticed that instead of being sleepless, I got very tired from the med, so instead of taking it in the morning as the doc recommended I`m taking it in the evening.
Haven`t yet noticed an effect on concentration.
Does anyone here have experience with Moclobemide and ADD/ADHD? How long does it take to work(I know 2 days are probably too little)

How long does it take to work(I know 2 days are probably too little)I am not a diagnosed ADD patient, my main problems are chronic-atypical depression and social phobia, but I do have some of the symptoms of ADD. (short attention span, distractibility, poor concentration, impulsiveness)
I began 300 mg/day moclobemide two months ago, and it did help with the symptoms I am talking about.
I noticed its effect right away (2 hours after taking the first dose), but quick response to medication is typical of me.
But, I suspect that moclobemide is even working in your case, because it is supposed to be stimulating, not sedating. I suffered from insomnia in first week, and the insomnia still visits me at stressful times. Before, I was a hypersomniac and I never could go through the day without taking a nap.

Hi,
I tried moclobemide and have ADD. The first trial I tried 150 mg/day and the first day was great, I could concentrate better. However, by the 3rd day I was glued to the couch with no motivation and worse ADD symptoms. Gave up day 5.
So I took a few weeks off, then tried 75mg once a day to start and was sedated or unmovitated from the first day. I gave up on day 4.
In summary I found the sedation to only get worse, but since I could barely get up I didn't see it through for very long. It seemed like a higher dose was better than a lower dose.
let us know how it goes,
kate

I have ADHD & narcolepsy but need treatment for depression too, especially in winter. I'd come off Luvox & unfortuantely, realised I couldn't function properly without an AD. I asked to try moclobemide for the depression. No difference was noticed with my ADD symptoms but the med made me irritable to the point where I was feeling a constant 'low grade' rage. I was ready to beat the crap out of people & they stepped out of my way when they saw me coming (which is amusing seeing I'm a middle-aged woman who only weighed 110 lb at the time). I had to stop it as I was only becoming angrier over time.
This is the end of the thread.
