I learned that six hours makes a HUGE difference when you've not
taken your AD. I took the remeron yesterday at noon and then didn't take it
until 5:30pm today. An hour after I took it I got dizzy to the point of
feeling sick and sleepy. I took about an hours nap and woke up fine. Could
this be because I waited to take the dose, or was this my body regulating to the
new 45mgs? Does your body adjust to the dizziness eventually? I have been on
45mg for five days now. It goes away after about an hour, but that hour is
a bit rough. Any ideas? Suggestions?? I'm going to try to ease myself back on it
at night to see if it helps. I tried it in the day time to see if I would end up waking
earlier the next day than when I take it at night. Thanks
Jen

James here....remeron should be taken at nite prior to bed as it is sedating. That way you will not notice this effect as you will be asleep.

I always take it at night, shortly before I want to go to sleep. I'm at 30mg, but was at 45 for probably more than a year. On 45, I had to be extra careful to be home and ready for bed when I took it becase I got dizzy and sleepy quickly. Sometimes even going upstairs to bed was hard. I was unsteady on my feet and bumped into things like walls. I never got over the dizziness at 45mg. It only stopped when my doctor cut my dose back to 30mg.
I don't know how you can tolerate taking it during the day, but good luck.

I'm not really in a good position to comment, because anything over 7.5mg a hour before bed is just too druggy for me. I've been all the way up to 60mg in earlier trials, but have found over time that my ideal dose is a measly 7.5mg. JohnL

i noticed that when i forgot to take remeron, the next day, i would be really really dizzy. i guess the dizziness is worse when there is less of remeron in your system. for the first time in my life, i fell in the bathroom and was out of it. i got up, and had no idea where i was or what i was doing here for about 5 seconds or so.
